CEH Restricted & Endowment Funds
Annual Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to cover the day-to-day expenses of the Congregation.
Blanche S Davidson Floral Fund: Established by the Davidson family to purchase flowers during Shabbat and other holidays.
Building Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to underwrite the capital projects and major maintenance of the synagogue building.
CEH Endowment Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to underwrite the long-term capital needs of the Congregation.
Celia & Saul Bash Memorial Fund: Established by family and friends to honor the memory of Celia and Saul Bash by underwriting costs for support of a scholarly speaker.
Christie Phillips landscape Fund: Established by the Phillips/Rothstein family to honor the memory of Christie Phillips by paying for landscape upkeep at the synagogue.
David Theodore Schwartz Fund: Established by the Schwartz family to honor the memory of David Theodore Schwartz by supporting preschool programming related to Jewish religious practice. The fund can be used to hire personnel such a song leader for programming as well as food and materials for events.
Debt Reduction Campaign: This campaign is being initiated to help reduce our current debt level to a more manageable level prior to refinance expected in 2025.
Emergency Preparedness & Security Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to underwrite security related enhancements to the synagogue.
Enhancement Fund: Established by friends of the Congregation to underwrite the cost of acquiring items specifically needed to enhance the synagogue which cannot be funded through the annual budget.
Fiedelman Memorial Endowment Fund: Established by the Fiedelman Family to sponsor bema flowers on family yahrzeits. If funds are available, it can also fund programming.
Jean & Samuel Rothstein Memorial Fund: Established by the Rothstein family to honor the memory of Jean & Samuel Rothstein by providing support for Hebrew, Yiddish, and Bible adult education courses.
Kiddush Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to be used to fund Shabbat and Holiday meals.
Legacy Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to be used in conjunction with the Legacy Program. As legacy pledges are received, the Board of Directors can decide how best to use these funds to further the strengthen the synagogue and its programming.
Martin, Phyllis and Sara Ainspan Fund: Established by the Ainspan Family for artistic programming. The fund may also be used to support the salary for an arts instructor for the Religious school and/or the congregation.
Molly Sandler Children’s Book Fund: Established by the family and friends in memory of Molly Sandler to underwrite the purchase of books for the Children’s Library collection.
Prayerbook & Chumash Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to underwrite acquisition and maintenance of suitable Chumashim and prayer books for the Sanctuary.
Preschool Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to fund special programs for the Preschool.
Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to permit the Congregation’s Rabbi to contribute to charitable purposes without such expenses being included in the annual budget.
Religious School Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to fund special programs for the Religious School.
Scholarship & Awards Fund: Established by the Board of Directors for the development of programs which will enhance the initiative and performance of the students in our Religious School and to fund special youth activities.
Social Action Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to allow the Congregation to donate to charitable causes in the greater community.
Torah Fund: Established by the Board of Directors to cover repairs of the congregation’s Sifrei Torah or the purchase of a new torah.
