Shout Out: A Job Well Done

A huge todah rabah (thank you very much) to members Michael HarrisJeremy Bronheim and Dan Rosman for securing a PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) loan for Congregation Etz Hayim during this difficult time. Michael, Jeremy and Dan put in countless hours working on the application, constantly modifying it to meet the ever-changing requirements. As a result, Etz Hayim is extremely fortunate to have been awarded a PPP loan for over $150,000.

As you may know, a PPP loan is a forgivable loan for small businesses that can be spent on certain items such as payroll and mortgage interest.  This means not only that we don’t need to furlough or cut CEH staff, but we are even able to maintain quality virtual religious school education beyond our original religious school year-end; the CEH religious school is now delivering virtual classes until mid-June.

CEH is extremely lucky to have received this grant. Few applicants did. For example, Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia has had to furlough staff because they didn’t receive one.

Great job, Michael, Jeremy and Dan!
