Physically-Distant Volunteer Project and Tailgate Party – Recap

On Sunday, May 24, the Social Action Committee sponsored a Social Distance Tailgate event to pack snack bags for a local school to distribute to needy families. Claremont Immersion Elementary School is distributing hot meals 3 times/week – provided by Bayou Bakery (funded through Real Food for Kids). Along with the meals, donated healthy snack bags are given to each child. There is a huge effort in the community to purchase and pack these snacks bags, and CEH stepped up to help. Donned with masks, members packed up 150+ bags and gratefully had a chance to catch up in-person. Be on the lookout for more opportunities to help our neighbors in need.

Thanks to Rachel Waldstein Kagy, Paula Levin-Alcorn and the CEH Social Action Committee for making this event possible.
