From Alan Freed to Carole King, from Bob Dylan to Drake, we will discuss the lives of some of the greatest Jewish contributors to rock’n’roll, and we’ll play plenty of their amazing music along the way.

The tour covers 70 years and 10 city blocks combining narration and live discussion with archival images, oral histories, soundscapes and contemporary photographs.

This masterwork of American immigrant literature is set in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and tells the story of Sara Smolinsky, the youngest daughter of an Orthodox rabbi, who rebels against her father’s rigid conception of Jewish womanhood.
